Osaka is the second largest metropolis in Japan after Tokyo. In the past, this city has been the economic center of the Kansai region. At one point in time, it also became the center of the Japanese seat of power before returning back Edo (Tokyo).

Today, tourists are attracted to the city, not just for their exquisite goods, but also because of the richness of its history and culture.

Universal Studios Japan

From all ages, kids to kids-at-heart, everyone will find an enjoyable attraction that will surely delight their spirits. It offers thrilling and heart-stopping rides as well as relaxing and child-friendly rides. Universal Studios is divided to eight different sections: Hollywood, New York, San Francisco, Jurassic Park, Waterworld, Amity Village, Universal Wonderland and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. After a day’s worth of adventure, you’ll surely feel exhausted and drained. Good thing you don’t have to far to find relaxation. Just beside the park is the Universal Citywalk Osaka. Minami (Namba)

Live the life of the party in the city’s center of entertainment and night life. Located around the Nambe station, Minami is famous for its restaurants, boutiques, stores, and entertainment hubs. If you are into shopping and socializing, then you should definitely drop by the district. Plus, the place is easily accessible because it is served by three train companies.

Osaka Aquarium

Do you love the marine life? Osaka has a place for you. Located in Tempozan Harbor Village of Osaka’s bay area, Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan is one of the most spectacular attractions in Japan. This giant aquarium mainly houses the marine biodiversity in the Pacific Rim.

They are all placed in 15 different tanks that represent the different regions of the Pacific Rim. Its most famous attraction is the whale shark that can be found in the 9th tank. The tour in the aquarium starts from the topmost floor, going down spirally. Some tanks span more than one floor, allowing you to fully observe them in depth.

Osaka Castle

Osaka Castle is a testament of arduous and laborious work. Construction of the castle started in 1583 but has been halted time and time again because of wars, attacks, and change of government. It was only in 1931 that the castle was finished in all of its glory. Today, it is a gleaming piece of Osaka that truly embodies its history and beauty. It is best to visit during the spring time when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom.
