A France trip means time at the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, and many other popular attractions.  It also means lots of time eating all the delicious food in the restaurants and enjoying a drink or two.  All this can add up quickly, but there are ways that you can save significantly during your trip to France.

Here are 5 tips to save money during your France trip:

Enjoy Picnics

Eating in restaurants is an easy way to enjoy a delicious meal, but you can have a similar meal for a fraction of the price with a picnic.  It is quite simple to purchase your food for a picnic too.  All you need to do is head over to the local market and purchase some bread, cheese, meat, and fruit.

Drink Wine

Wine is quite cheap in France, in fact, it is cheaper than water.  Therefore, if you are going to enjoy a drink or two during your France trip, you will want to choose wine over any other alcoholic beverage.

Choose a Prix-Fixe Meal

If you are going to dine at a restaurant during your trip to France, you will want to choose a prix-fixe meal.  This is a set menu and you will receive a two or three course meal at about half the price of a regular meal.

Choose Cheaper Transportation

Transportation can be quite costly in France, so you will want to be cautious of the options that you choose.  You can easily save a lot of money if you choose to rideshare or take the slow train.  The train is one of the easiest ways to get around France, and while it is usually cheap, the slow train or the Eurail pass are the cheapest options.  When it comes to rideshares, every driver is verified, so it is completely safe to use.  However, flexibility is key, because there are times that a ride may not show up or will be later than anticipated.

Take advantage of being young

Anyone under the age of 26 will want to take advantage of all the discounts that are available with the ISIC card in France.  This card offers a multitude of discounts that can help any young person save even more during their trip to France.
